BUTEX Debating Club won a national debate championship

Bangladesh University of Textiles Debating Club (BUTEXDC), a name of fame in the field of university level debating competition, has achieved a great milestone on 24 September. BUTEXDC has become champion in Barisal Holiday school-Ichibin study link national debate competition and cultural festival-2017.

The main theme of this program was “Dreaming touches the Dream” that ignited the students to build a strong mindset for the achievement of their respective goals. Two days long program, 23th and 24th September included lots of competition flow and career planning seminar such as debate competition (school, college and university level), quiz competition, recite competition, camp fire along with heart touching cultural program.

In this debate competition, more than 32 public and private universities took part and made the program successful. In addition, BUTEXDC defeated Jagannath University debating club flamboyantly. At last, BUTEXDC defeated Dhaka University debating society and got champion with great team spirit. Member of Bangladesh Parliament, Barisal-5, Jebunnessa Afroz was present as chief gust and she also acted as a representative of United Nations in final debate competition. Her outstanding activity made the event so generous and interactive towards the audience.

“As we know, everyone wants to become smart presenter and good decision maker in life, debating practice teaches people how to think of a topic from different aspects. It also develops the men’s intellectual behavior. In order to attain our vision of 50 billion USD RMG export, we need strategic good leaders who will drive us to achieve our goal. BUTEXDC is creating lots of good debater who will be great leader and will lead the future textile world perfectly”, one of debater of the BUTEXDC opined.

Organizing secretary of BUTEXDC Md Jahangir Alam said, “My dream was to see my university to be the highest position in the field of debate. I am lucky that we are successful to take our university in the desired position by means of this prestigious achievement.”

Another fellow mate of Md Jahangir Alam and organizing secretary of BUTEXDC, S.M Rafio Morshed said, “We can introduce BUTEX towards every class of people effectively by practicing debate. This achievement influences students to take our university in the highest position by different activities. For becoming debutant debater, everyone needs lots of different sector based knowledge. We have a plan to set up a new library in our club room containing lots of research based books.”

President of BUTEXDC, Md Sakibur Rahaman said, “Alhamdulillah, all of the praises for almighty Allah whose blessings is always with us. Only by His grace, we have made this possible. And I would like to congratulate ‘The Three’ whose adroit performance brought us this Glory. Each of the BUTEXIAN belongs to this glory. BUTEXDC is trying it’s best to explore the aptitude inside each of its member. We are arranging regular sessions that make them deft in debating arena as well as kindle on their passion. We, with the love of our teachers, advisors & juniors are the happiest club ever.”

Secretary of BUTEXDC, Onia Parvin said, “Debating is something like an art which makes anyone thinks any topic slightly different from general people. And to be successful in the personal life, some differences in thinking are mandatory. Debating also increases the analytical thinking ability of people. So whether anyone can or can’t do it properly, whatever it is, he/she should be involved in debating.”

Moderator of BUTEXDC, Departmental head of Humanities and Social Science, Dillara Hossain praised their brilliant success and congratulated the champion team of BUTEXDC.
