Nike is an American multinational corporation that is engaged in the design, development, manufacturing and worldwide marketing and sales of footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories and services.

Just in time for the International women’s day sportswear brand. Nike has announced the new performance Nike pro hijab, made from stretchy and breathable polyester fabric, designed to support Muslim female athletes, and to be officially released in 2018.

Nike said, the hijab is already being worn by Emirati figure skater Zahra Lari.

“By providing Muslim athletes with the most ground-breaking products, like the Nike Pro Hijab, Nike aims to serve today’s pioneers, as well as inspire even more women and girls in the region who still face barriers and limited access to sport, “the statement from Nike read.

I was thrilled and a bit emotional to see Nike prototyping a Hijab,” Lari said in a statement. I’ve tried so many different hijabs for performance, and so few of them actually work for me.”

Nike’s Pro Hijab will be available in three different color ways, black, vast grey and obsidian.
