At a meeting of the Crisis Management Core Committee held at the labor ministry in Dhaka on May 29, BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman said, “The trade body listed 1,200 factories as ‘problematic’ based on the lists prepared by several government agencies and the evaluation of the BGMEA.”

“The trade body has formed 15 monitoring teams so that no untoward situation takes place in the factories over the payment of wages and festival allowances,” he added.

According to the decision of the Crisis Management Core Committee meeting, this year workers would get festival allowances before the start of Eid vacation.
