The largest machineries trade fair in Bangladesh ‘Dhaka International Textile and Garment Machinery’ (DTG) has showcased a variety of equipment, products, technologies as well as services and information concerning all the textile and garment processing and production aspects including spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing, testing, washing, embroidery, sewing and more.

Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) and Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Ltd, jointly organized the four-day exposition where 1,000 textile machinery manufacturers, from 33 countries, have participated spanning 18 halls comprising 1,200 booths.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Mohammad Ali Khokon, the vice president of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), said, “DTG was not merely an exhibition for displaying the latest technological advancements in textile and garment machinery and accessories”. “We had received $250 million spot order in last year. We hope to get more spot orders this year,” Khokon added.

Khokon highlighted some problems in primary textile sector, including inadequate gas, shortage of electricity, and inadequate availability of land.
We urged the government to implement the step immediately to overcome the power and gas crisis said, Mohammad Ali Khokon.
“Gas problem would be solved shortly as the government was going to start the import of LNG within a few months,” said MA Mannan, State Minister for finance
The organizers are expected that this professional trade platform to help all the buyers gain greater competitive advantage in the industry.

Visitors expressed their satisfaction while talking with Textile Today reporter with saying that “Really it is a great exhibition where we can get new machineries for our industry, which is very urgent for increasing productivity and getting competitive advantage.”
Exhibitors and visitors both were appreciating the 3rd ICTA with saying, “This conference will play a vital role to move forward adopting sustainability initiatives to become cost effective and improve reputation and brand value of Bangladesh textile and RMG industry.”
