4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd monumentalizes LEED Platinum achievement

4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd of  Team Group achieves ‘LEED Platinum rated green factory certification with 83 scores by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) at Team Group Uttara head office in Dhaka.

Mahendra Jayalatah LEED Consultant from Sri Lanka handed over the LEED Platinum certification award to Managing Director team group Abdullah Hil Rakib.

The 4A Yarn Dyeing is a pioneer within the apparel sector of Bangladesh. The group ensures to strengthen its values by performing its social responsibility towards the environment by incorporating sustainable practices.

It is backed by the TEAM Group with several facilities in Bangladesh. Under a new sustainable expansion program, a new state-of-the-art “GREEN” factory, ‘4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd – Dhaka facility’ was established in Bangladesh.

In order to demonstrate its responsibility to protect the environment and reduce operating costs, 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd has opted for the LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Platinum certification for the renovated facility by the USGBC.

Abdullah Hil Rakib said, “I am very thankful to  USGBC-GBCI, EnergySolve International and my team for this remarkable achievement.”

“Green is part of sustainability, especially for our upcoming generation’s livelihood.”

“We have a plan to make my all-sister concern factories will be LEED-certified by 2025. Bangladesh is now green industry moving ahead and more than 500 factories are waiting for green certification,” added Abdullah Hil Rakib.

Gopalakrishnan, Managing Director, GBCI – SEA & ME markets said, “Bangladesh is one of the biggest markets for us.”

“Bangladesh has now the highest number of green factories in the world. So Bangladeshi factories are now more compliant.”

Gopalakrishnan thanked 4A yarn Dyeing and the entire team for this remarkable achievement.

Santanu Dutta Gupta, Regional head USGBC-GBCI (East India, Bangladesh and Vietnam markets) said, “It is a very big achievement for Bangladesh in 2022. Bangladesh is an important market for USGBC-GBCI.”

“Bangladesh has the highest number of green garment factories in the world. Recently Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has been honored with the 2021 USGBC Leadership Award,” Santanu added.

Md. Abul Kalam Azad, General Manager (Group-Head of Engineering) of Team Group showcased a keynote presentation on their green achieving including energy, water, materials, innovation, etc.
