4A Yarn Dyeing & Riviera Composite Industries get green recognition

4A Yarn Dyeing Limited (a concern of TEAM Group) in Kaichabari, Banchabarri, Baipail of Savar, was rated Platinum Certified by earning 83 Points, while Riviera Composite Industries Limited, Sharifpur, Malkar Bari, received a gold rating (77 Points) by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

Now Bangladesh has a total of 157 environment-friendly green establishments in the textile and apparel industry.

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) recently informed journalists about the achievement, saying the factories received the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certificates from the USGBC on 18 January and 21 January respectively.

4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd. is a 100% export-oriented outerwear manufacturing company, established in 2009. It specializes in producing all kinds of high-quality outerwear garments.

4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd. production facility complies with local and international standards. Their aim is to make the most valuable asset – the people- to be safe. Its highly skilled workforce is provided with various conveniences including medical and day-care centers, amenities specialized for pregnant employees along with training to promote personal and professional growth.

Riviera Composite Industries Limited is manufacturing and exporting Knit Garments (T-shirts). It commenced business in 2019, and currently operates three manufacturing facilities, own stitching units, knitting and dyeing units, auto and manual printing, sublimation print, computerized embroidery and sequence unit.

Bangladesh is the international leader in green factories having the highest number of green garment factories, where 47 are platinum rated, 96 gold rated, 10 silver, and 4 have no rating. Dozens more units are in the process of achieving the LEED certification.

 

Out of the top 10 USGBC LEED certified factories, seven are in Bangladesh.

The country has been receiving the certificate since 2001. In the recently concluded year, 24 RMG factories were recognized as green.
