Bangladesh is currently having 789 wet dyeing finishing factories operational for export oriented business informed Mr. Mohan Seneviratne, Program Manager, Partnership for Cleaner Textiles (PaCT) in a seminar in Dhaka recently. PaCT is a program implemented by International Finance Corporation and financed mainly by the Embassy of Kingdom of Netherlands in Dhaka along eight leading apparel brands. Sponsoring brands are C&A, H&M, Inditex, G-Star Raw, KappAhl, Lindex, Primark and Tesco. Mohan mentioned that one of their studies has revealed that the country is currently having 789 factories involved in wet processes. He also informed that PaCT have been working with 149 factories among them to conserve water and energy.
