India’s leading apparel company Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL)’s greenfield garment manufacturing unit’s construction has been started at Pulivendula (Andhra Pradesh).

This apparel manufacturing unit is expected to create over 2,000 jobs, majorly benefitting local women, with a financial outlay of Rs. 110.38 crore.
The factory is expected to start operations within a year. And Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone of the factory.
Next, the CM inaugurated the Jagananna Housing Colony, a model housing complex having 7,300 residential units, within a distance of 500 meters from the factory.
CM said, “I wish this finally grows into a major garment hub employing more than 10,000-20,000 women.”
Besides, the State Government has asked the Centre to sanction a Mega Integrated Textile Park in the Kadapa district. It can be developed as an Integrated Textile and Apparel Cluster, he added.
On another side, to train the workforce, skill-college is also coming up at Pulivendula as a part of the Government’s mission to establish 26 world-class institutions across the state.
Ashish Dikshit, MD, ABFRL attributed the Group’s foray into Andhra Pradesh to the Government’s support.
