ADROITERS, champion of TEXPRES 2018 business case competition

The final round of TEXPRES 2018, an intra-university business case competition has been organized by BUTEX Business Club on 8 December, 2018 at Bishwa Shahitto Kendro auditorium that was sponsored by AUX & HUE, a leading dyes supplying company in Bangladesh.

The competition started on November 30 with an online case-solving round, where around 60 teams from BUTEX participated. And seven teams were selected for the final round.

Rashidul Islam Russel, CEO, AUX & HUE; Saraf Anjum Disha, Urban Planner, Dept. of URP, BUET; Mubasshir Tahmid, CEO, Tetra were the judges of the final round.

BUTEX Business Club, one of the most prominent clubs of BUTEX, is a platform for the students to foster and excel their leadership skill.

The presentation of the finalists were overwhelming from the judge’s point of view. After the presentation, they gave feedback on participants’ presentation, mentioning their weak points and how they can improve their skills while delivering a speech. Rashidul Islam inspired students to focus on establishing a self-dependent textile industry in Bangladesh.

Team ADROITERS was the champion, team GAME CHANGERS 1st runner-up and team BISHORGO became  2nd runner-up at the final round.

The textile sector is contributing 80% of the total export revenue of the country and the Bangladesh University of Textiles is acting as the heart of the sector by providing up to the mark textile graduates who are the pioneers of the sector. Students of BUTEX are setting an example to others in regard to improving the skills that will ultimately help to promote the textile sector of Bangladesh. In addition, this is being done by their engagement in many co-curricular activities.

BUTEX Business Club, one of the most prominent clubs of BUTEX, is a platform for the students to foster and excel their leadership skill. The club is also working to develop business ideas among the students of BUTEX and in this regard, BUTEX Business Club organizes textile based business case competitions. These competitions are engaging students in the real-life business problem solving to keep them ready for the ever-changing and competitive textile and garment industry.

Student body thinks that these competitions give them the platform to share their ideas and also help them enhance their critical thinking ability.
