‘Made in Bangladesh’ apparel products will explore the Brazil and Russia markets within the next one and a half years, expressed Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi recently in a program.
“Efforts are on to enter into new markets to boost the country’s export earnings and we’ll have to sustain the competitive global market through competition,” said Tipu Munshi.
Commerce Minister said that Bangladesh’s RMG industry has not come into the present sound condition overnight, rather it started from a very small scale. Bangladesh now holds the 2nd slot across the globe in RMG industry through overcoming various obstacles and around 84 percent of the country’s export earnings come from this RMG sector.
Defining Bangladesh as a strong country in the RMG industry Tipu said, “The unexpected Rana Plaza Building Collapse incident had shown the path to the RMG industry to make a turnaround and that is why the number of modern and green factories in the country is on the rise.”
The commerce minister also suggested for using solar power in the RMG industries and factories, reducing the use of water through recycling, and showing bargaining skills towards fixing the price of products.
