Leaders of BGMEA headed by President Faruque Hassan held a meeting with Labour and Employment Secretary K.M. Abdus Salam at the Ministry on 9 June to discuss the issues pertaining to the welfare of RMG workers.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan requested the ministry to consider ways of how the central fund could be effectively used to ensure more welfare of garment workers. He also urged the ministry to support the education of workers’ children from the fund under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Miran Ali, Vice President, BGMEA, and Nafis-Ud-Doula, Director, Impress-Newtex Composite Textiles Ltd were also present at the meeting.
