For the first time in Bangladesh, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), in partnership with Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE) launched ‘Sustainable Design and Innovation Award’ to encourage sustainable design and innovation in Bangladesh’s readymade garments (RMG) industry.
Fresh graduates and senior students from fashion design institutes of major public and private universities and industry professionals are invited to participate in the open competition.

The Sustainable Design and Innovation Award is a unique platform where homegrown talents and talented designers will be nominated to characterize their best product and process innovations in a succession of presentations and participation.
The award will be given under two categories: 1. Product Design Development 2. Process Innovation.
An esteemed jury board will evaluate the selection process in terms of innovation and elaboration, functionality, aesthetics, and responsibility. The award will encourage multi-disciplinary approaches to design, advance diversity, and more environmentally sustainable solutions.
BGMEA aims to discover creative and innovative minds in the country through a demanding selection process.
Where fresh graduates and 4th year students from various fashion design institutes of key public and private universities and industry professionals are requested to participate in the open competition.

The Sustainable Design and Innovation Award also aims to bridge the gap within the design profession and the apparel industry. And inspire interdisciplinary tactics to design, multiplicity, or inspire more environmentally and socially sustainable solutions.
