On November 25th, the Bangladesh Garments Washing Technologists Foundation (BGWTF) offered to host a whole day workshop titled “Sustainable Development in denim washing” at the hotel Sea-Shell inside the capital, which was attended by approximately fifty washing professional people.
Bangladesh Garments Washing Technologist Foundation (BGWTF) is a platform for technologists working in garment washing Sector. BGWTF was established in 2009 and now there are more than 800 members in this organization. BGWTF organizes re-union, annual get together, workshop, seminar, social work and discussion program etc.
According to Md. Abdus Samad, President of BGWTF, The driving force of textile sector is contributing 84% of total foreign income, where are garments washing industry is one of the important parts. In garments washing industries the washing technologist are working with their skill and talent to develop the industry.
The importance of washing technologists is immense to keep the wheels of the country’s economy moving through the RMG sector of Bangladesh.
With the hands and talent of the technologists of this sector, a simple pair of denim pants rose from just $2 to $50.
The event was presided over by Md. Abdus Samad, President of the BGWTF, and Abdus Samad Arian, General Manager, Washing, TUSUKA Processing Ltd.
The program was greatly enhanced by Md. Mehedi Hasan, the founder and president of the BGWTF.
In the workshop Kamal Uddin Mia, COO, Tarasima Apparels Ltd., Engr. Moniruzzaman Babu, Sr.GM, Crown Wears Ltd, Mahasinuzzaman Shishir, General Manager, Natural Denims and Wash & Wear Ltd., Md. Reza E Rabbi, Head of Operation and Business Execution, Vertex Group were present as Resource persons.
All the resource persons shared their experience & discussed different problem statements in the washing Industry of Bangladesh & way-out.
BGWTF is making all-out efforts to build a washing institute to produce skilled washing technologists in Bangladesh.
In the afternoon Certificates were handed over to the participants.
