A day-long exhibition titled ‘The Impressive Catalogue-2022’, hosted by the students of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT), Batch-182 of the Dept. of Apparel Manufacturing and Technology was successfully held at the university premises on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

The exhibition was directly supervised by Hridika Nusrat Kuntala, Lecturer, Dept. of Apparel Manufacturing and Technology, where the students got the opportunity to showcase their newly developed and re-engineered products.
Aiming to unleash the design talents of the students, this exhibition features students’ works over diverse clothing products. The inspirations for those clothing items came from social awareness, biomimicry, architecture, sustainable fashion, traditional fabrics, and particularly our Bengali heritage.

The exhibition also introduced remarkable works on denim, i.e., bikers’ protective suits from denim, denim in modest fashion, denim gowns. Diversified surface ornamentation applied on recycled denim garments and so on. The most highlighted and praised apparel products developed by the students are inspired from the folk art of Bangladesh, natural dyes, natural creatures like Mushroom, Butterfly and the rare “Raj Dhanesh” birds of Bandarban, the architecture of “The National Parliament” and our traditional “Rickshaw Painting”.

Inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, BUFT; Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Treasurer, BUFT; Md. Rafiquzzaman, Registrar, BUFT and the exhibition reached its climax when many people, including students from all departments, faculties, and officers, visited the exhibition.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor expressed his appreciation, “Despite being fashion design students, their works are really impressive and praiseworthy. There should be more exhibitions like this.”

The students exhibited their innovative ideas through their developed products and mesmerized the visitors with their presentations. Students got praised for their ingenious ideas, hard work, and creativity.
“I felt relieved that my six months’ hard work has paid off finally and the outputs of my students fulfilled my expectation undoubtedly,” Hridika Nusrat Kuntala expressed, whose prudent steps make this exhibition possible and even a grand one. She also admired all the students, especially those who played the organizing roles.
