In the world of advancement ‘change’ is inevitable to progress towards a better future. With such a goal in mind, BUFT Model United Nations Association (BUFTMUNA) organized their 3rd Annual General Assembly on 2 May 2019.
The main objective of the Annual General Assembly was to announce the names of the newly selected Executive Board Members of BUFTMUNA and appoint them in their respective posts in the presence of respected Treasurer of BUFT Prof. Dr. S M Abu Raihan, Director of Students Welfare Grp. (Rtd.) A.N.M Rafiqul Alam and the Advisor of BUFTMUNA Asst. Prof. Arafat Hossain.
Nasibul Hassan was selected as President; Faysal Ahmed Chowdhury as Vice-President (Admin); Abu Bakar Chowdhury as Vice-President (Academic and Research); Jahid Hasan as General Secretary; Md. Monsur Alam Chowdhury as Assistant General Secretary and Rakibul Haque as Treasurer.
The program started with the national anthem and then Dr. S M Abu Raihan congratulated the previous executive board for their tremendous success in the past year. He also expressed that the newly selected executive board must work hard to achieve greater heights.
After the announcement of the committee and the oath-taking ceremony of the new committee the Departed President Yamin Islam gave a very emotional speech for the club members which continued with the newly appointed President Nasibul Hassan as he congratulated the newly selected executive board members and reminded them that BUFTMUNA is a family and unity is our prime strength.
BUFTMUNA is a club which works for the betterment of the students of BUFT by practicing the skills of leadership, organizing and negotiation among the students who are the future leaders in the RMG sector. The main goal of BUFTMUNA is to create forerunners in the textile and garments sector from BUFT so that they can lead the RMG sector with iron hands changing the economy of Bangladesh.
The Annual General Assembly was memorable as the torch of BUFTMUNA passes on to the next generation of young leaders guided by the senior members and authorities.
