BUTEX celebrates its 6th anniversary with grand parties

butexday_2016Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) has observed its 6th Anniversary through a grand “University day” party on December 22, 2016. The University had started its journey on 2010, had a glorious past history. It was established on 1950 as College of Textile Technology. Since then it has been contributing a lot in economic growth of Bangladesh. Graduate from this University help Bangladesh textile industry to find its identity in global platform. It has been said that today, it is the only digital university of Bangladesh. As the birthday of the university the day 22nd December has been observed as ‘BUTEX Day’.

To mark the ‘BUTEX Day’, the University launched series of programs and activities, beginning with a celebration in University play-ground. University invited all of its stuff, students, alumni, the local community & important political leaders on the event.

Vice Chancellor Professor Engr. Mashud Ahmed announced the start of the event by cutting Cake with Teacher, Students & senior leaders of BUTEX alumni, which was followed by a rally. Later, an open discussion took place where veteran textile engineers, leaders of the ex-students community, deans of different faculties gave their valuable speech on the occasion.

Honorable State Minister of Textiles & Jute Mirza Azam was the Chief Guest & BUTEX Vice Chancellor Professor Engr. Mashud Ahmed was on the chair. On his speech, Chief Guest expressed his gratitude to textile engineers & BUTEX to their great contribution to the industry. He wish that BUTEX would keep continue their development & worked more closely for the development of industry. Vice Chancellor Professor Masud Ahmed said,” I believe that having ambitions and resolute aims, hard work, enthusiasm & resilience combined with updated knowledge would take Bangladesh University of Textiles to its ‘Journey of excellence’.”  Professor Ahmed added that “Our current efforts will be towards making Bangladesh University of Textiles an ideal institution with international recognition that it will fulfill the future requirements of textile sectors.”

After the first session, a debate competition and cultural program took place. Different Cultural organizations of the university, close-up one star & BUTEX ex-student Tamim Mridha & friends performed on the Program. Shironamhin & Joler Gan added color on the bliss.
