China sees $209 bn in apparel export in Jan-Nov 2021

According to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) published data China’s apparel export earned a combined operating revenue of $209.48 billion from January to November 2021, recording a 7.7% YoY growth.

Around 12,659 apparel companies of China’s garment industry stated growth in production, revenue and profits.

The businesses collectively had a profit of 66.7 billion yuan, up 12.6% Y-o-Y, while joint production rose 8.5% Y-o-Y to 21.3 billion pieces in the first 11 months of 2021.

The MIIT data also showed that China’s total exports of garments and accessories increased by 25.1% from January to November 2021 compared to the same period in 2020, as per.

The noteworthy growth in exports re-triggers the talk if China is still a leading force in the global apparel manufacturing industry, in spite of numerous reports claiming its share is decreasing in each passing year.
