Chinese-owned company SSH (BD) Sustainable Fashion Company Limited will invest in BEPZA economic zone at Mirsharai, Chattogram to set up a high-end garment manufacturing plant. The company will invest $24.05 million for this.

SSH Sustainable Fashion will produce 36 million jackets, blazers, suits, shirts, pants, trousers, jerseys, t-shirts, shorts, swimsuits, hoodies, uniforms and other types of high-end apparel annually. If the factory comes into production, there will be employment for 2 thousand 62 Bangladeshi nationals.
BEPZA Member (Investment Development) Ali Reza Majid and SSH Sustainable Fashion Managing Director Sun Ji signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations at the BEPZA office on Green Road in the capital on Wednesday (January 4).
BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman witnessed the signing ceremony. BEPZA Member (Engineering) Mohammad Faruque Alam, Member (Finance) Nafisa Banu, Executive Director (Public Relations) Nazma Binte Alamgir, Executive Director (Investment Development) Md. Tanvir Hossain and Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Khorshid Alam were present during the signing ceremony.
Outside of Bangladesh, SSH Sustainable Fashion has 11 factories in Myanmar, Cambodia and China. So far, 16 companies have signed investment agreement in BEPZA Economic Zone. Their proposed investment amount is $387.7 million.
