CTEC Career Club webinar focuses ‘Internship to choose the right career’

The webinar took place on the 17th of June 2022 where Textile Today was the media partner.

More than two hundred students including the students of Textile Engineering College, Zorargonj, Chattogram (CTEC) were present at the fruitful event.

On behalf of the principal Engr. Md. Ali Azam Rokon, Engr. Md. Sayful Islam lecturer and moderator of the club inaugurated the webinar.


Md. Mashiur Rahman, Manager of Designer Washing and Dying Limited, Bengal Group; Md. Tafazzal Hossain Manik, Manager (Technical & Sales) of the Resil Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., and Nazmus Sakib Chowdhury, Deputy Manager of the wet processing department, Pacific Jeans Ltd. were present as the guest speakers at the said webinar. All the guests are former students of the institute.

CTEC Career Club President Najim Uddin hosted the event.

Nazmus Sakib said, “An internship is an important part for a student. There is no alternative to an internship in a preferred subject to strengthen one’s practical knowledge which helps to choose the right career.”

Students need to have good knowledge in writing a professional resume, professional e-mail, MS Word/Excel, etc. Although there are so many graduates, but they are lagging in terms of those qualifications which makes it necessary to recruit skilled manpower from abroad for leading posts, he added.

Tafazzal Hossain Manik advised, “To be successful within a short time, one has to choose the industry in a planned way, everyone has to find out where their passion is. Therefore it is necessary to select the industry of the internee’s choice without rushing to join the job because different industries are best for various departments.

Especially in the knit section, the jobs hold comparatively better facilities and anyone can gain promotion within a short period by showing efficiency”.  He also emphasized developing cognitive efficiency and professional networking.

Md. Mashiur Rahman concentrated on career planning and choosing the preferred sector for the freshers.

At the Q&A session, the participants got appropriate answers from the speakers based on their queries.

Najim Uddin thanked everyone for the uninterrupted co-operation from the beginning to the end of the event.
