Seeing an upward trend to seek higher education abroad among the students, the CTEC Career Club, a career consulting platform of Textile Engineering College, Zorargonj, Chattogram took the initiative to set up a consultancy convention online on ‘Scopes for Higher Studies and Career Opportunities in North America’ recently.
The objectives were to provide a picturesque image of applying for higher studies in the universities of North America after graduation to the students currently studying textile engineering.
Students over 300 from different universities & institutions practicing the same discipline joined the said webinar.

Nine of the alumnus of CTEC currently pursuing higher degrees in their respective subjects in different renowned universities in the USA and Canada, were invited to share their insights on studying and building careers in North America.
In his inaugural speech, Najim Uddin, the president of the CTEC Career club, said, ”We organized the event to enhance the relationship of the current students with the alumni of the institute pursuing higher education and to maintain effective communication so that the new students can get advice, proper guidelines and maximum cooperation from seniors”
Shahjahan Shiraj, the general secretary of the CTEC Career Club, acted as the host throughout the entire webinar.
The Principal of the following institution Engr. Md. Ali Azam Rokon took off the curtain of the webinar with a motivating speech as the chief guest.
Then the special guest Dr. S M Fijul Kabir, who is currently a Ph.D. holder at North Carolina State University, USA, delivered his experience about his journey to achieve the milestone.
Later the following guests Md. Jakir Hossain from Texas Tech University, USA; Iftekharul Alam from Central Michigan University, USA; Avik Kumar Dhar from the University of Georgia, USA; Amit Talukdar from Mississippi State University, USA; Al Masud from Western Illinois University, USA; Imran riad from Central Michigan University, USA; Md. Saiful Haque Faisal from University of Alberta, Canada.
Pratim Sikdar from the University of Georgia shared their experiences and insights on topics based on higher studies that had been assigned to them earlier.
The said forum included the discussions around the preparation processes of applying for Grad Research Exam (GRE), Statement of Purpose (SOP), Letter of recommendation (LOR), Professors searching and emailing methods, IELTS exam, track changing, post-grad research methodology and how to apply for the green card, etc.
A Q&A session took place to address the issues arising from the said discussion at the very end of the event.
Among the teachers present in the concluding part, the moderator of CTEC Career Club and lecturer of the college Engr. Md. Saiful Islam put an end to the event with his ending speech.
The above three hour-long webinar ended on a high note covering almost all the aspects of higher studies and career opportunities in North America.
