Its solution caters both vertically integrated companies and those carrying out just one or two stages of the process from fiber to finished product. From enterprise resource planning to application of scientific products, Datatex has solutions for all. The key products include:

CAMS- Computer Aided Manufacturing System

CAMS is originally designed for the textile and apparel industry. The system has been proven in all areas of the textile supply chain and is now being implemented also in other industries. CAMS is tailored to each customer and each work station within customer; a flexible tool allows to design each function as screen as required for optimal man-machine communication. Customization is a programming effort but an “on the spot” set up activity.

NOW ERP

NOW, is the best solution for the garments industry, brands, private label, vertical from fiber to yarn market or cut and sew only.

CATS- Computer Aided textile Specification

CATS is the Datatex solution to minimize inspection costs, while enhancing the production value. It improves inspection on productivity and efficiency, optimizes the value of the produced fabric and reports timely information on faults in production.

Software solution in Bangladesh textile and garment industry

In the Bangladesh textile and garment industry, it is not accustomed with using software solutions. Top management failure as well as selecting the wrong system are the main reasons behind this. It is not because they are not used to using software solutions.

The top management is the key here, they should enforce that everything is going through according to the system. If the top management doesn’t guide and insist on their employees to use the system then it will not be possible.

The textile and apparel manufacturers must understand that the same employees are running the whole factory and determining the owners’ revenue output using sophisticated machinery. On the contrary, thinking that the employees cannot use a system- that will move the factory forward- is completely a wrong approach.

Apparel manufacturers always have second thoughts on implementing software systems. Buzzing with talks like ‘our employees/workers are illiterate to use this software system’.

The textile and apparel manufacturers must understand that the same employees are running the whole factory and determining the owners’ revenue output using sophisticated machinery. On the contrary, thinking that the employees cannot use a system- that will move the factory forward- is completely a wrong approach.

System inspection, for example, it will do everything on its own, automatically. The more illiterate the employees are, the more necessary for them to use a system to guide them.

This mindset – my employees are not educated enough to use software – of the owners is not unique for Bangladesh. Developed countries like Germany, the US, and other European countries have the same challenges.

You don’t need to be a genius to operate software automation system. If you can operate a machine, it is that much easier to use a system. Having ‘confidence’ between the employees, the management, and the system itself is the key.
