Denim Processing Plant Ltd – DPPL attains LEED Gold Certification

Denim Processing Plant Ltd. (DPPL) situated in Belashahor, Comilla, Bangladesh – received LEED NC v3 GOLD Certificate with 70 LEED points.

The leader in Green Building Consultancy services in Bangladesh (Consulting 225+ Projects), 360° Total Solution Ltd. (360 TSL) is the proud Green Building Consultant for the project. In a grand event, 360 TSL handed over the Gold Certification to DPPL at its office in Dhaka.

On 5 March, Ananta Ahmed, USGBC Faculty, LEED AP BD+C, ID+C, EB O+M, HOMES, ND, Principal LEED Consultant & Managing Director of 360° TSL handed over the Gold Certification to Md. Zahangir Alam, CEO; Ayesha Akter, Managing Director and Drimit Alam Heeya, Director Denim Processing Plant Ltd.

Ayesha Akter said, “We choose to become GREEN as we want to keep the earth livable for our future generation. It is our responsibility. Becoming a LEED-certified factory will greatly aid us by significantly reducing water and energy consumption. On top of it, this will be a positive branding for Denim Processing Plant Ltd.”

Md. Zahangir Alam said, “When I started this project I aspired to build an exemplary GREEN apparel factory. In the process, I met with Ananta Ahmed – as he is one of the top global USGBC expert Faculty. Ananta thoroughly guided me on the project. I am thankful to him that with his maestro guideline, we achieved the LEED Gold Certification.”

Zahangir Alam added, “Denim manufacturing produces a huge amount discharge as waste. For this Denim Processing Plant Ltd. has a world-class water treatment plant (WTP) and effluent treatment plant (ETP). Even the discharged water is recycled back for reuse.”

Drimit Alam Heeya said, “I feel proud to be a part of DPPL’s sustainable initiative. This is really fascinating that we are producing sustainable fashion to the world.”
