Double blade and roller squeegee to increase productivity in printing industry

The second technical seminar on the intelligent device of automatic screen printing machine was held on 30 November at the hotel Westin in Dhaka. At the seminar, application of Double Blade Squeegee and Roller Squeegee have been discussed as these are the intelligent device for automatic screen printing machine in printing industry to increase the productivity.

A presentation was conducted by Charlie Taublieb, Chairman of Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technology, where he explained how the Double Blade Squeegee and Roller Squeegee are helpful for garments printing industry to reduce cost.

The Double Blade Squeegee comes with 55/90/55 durometer rubber installed in the front, and 65/90/65 in the rear. The second blade acts to clear completely any ink that the first blade did not clear. Push thick Plastisol through a finer mesh count.  Normal technology can print 35 dozen shirts per hour where the double blade will allow to print 45 dozen per hour.

Engr. Shafiqur Rahman, President of ITET and Managing Director of HAMS Group, said, “The printing industry of Bangladesh has the potential to become the second highest foreign exchange earning sector and can cater many opportunities in this sector. If Double Blade Squeegee and Roller Squeegee is cost effective, we can use in our industry.”

 “We hope buyers will give more order for printing in Bangladesh,” said Shafiqur Rahman. He requested all to work together to make Bangladesh a middle-income country by 2021.

“Our garments costing is increasing day by, thus our printing industry needs more skilled people,” said KM Nazrul Islam, President of Screen Printing Welfare Association.

H K Kabir, Managing Director of HyupJin Petrochemical Ind. Ltd., said, “We will establish a printing academy to develop technical skills for printing industry professionals.” He thanked to all participants to attend the seminar and awarded certificates to some printing industries. More than 50 professionals from renowned printing industry were present at the seminar.
