Dr. Kabir joins NITTRAD

Prof. Dr.Engr. Md. Humaun Kabir has been appointed as second Principal of National Institute of Textile Training Research & Design (NITTRAD). He has been placed at the position of former principal Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan. NITTRAD is the only dedicated research & design institute for the textile industry under the direct management of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA). BTMA president and Chairman, Governing body of NITTRAD Mr. Jahangir Alamin introduced the new principal in an award giving ceremony held in NITTRAD on 1st March 2012. During his declaration he expected that Dr. Khan will be able to continue the progress of the institute and accelerate further to make NITTRAD a true centre of excellence for textile education.

Dr.Engr. Md. Humaun Kabir has been working as Sector Specialist (Textile), Duty Exemption & Drawback Office (DEDO) of GOB. He also gained reputation reputation in education institution as Advisor of Textile Engineering Department in fully fledged university namely World University of Bangladesh. Pleasing personality Dr. Engr. H. Kabir is considered to be very much familiar as academician as well as administrator in his professional career. Dr. Kabir has taken charge as Principal, NITTRAD on last Sunday morning dated March 12, 2012.

Dr. Khan seeks everybody concerned support in his new role saying “NITTRAD seeks your cooperation in continuing as well as new fields. All continuing NITTRAD activities including TOT program, Training, Testing Service etc. will continue with same speed. Definitely, NITTRAD will highly emphasize with its keen power to ensure world class textile graduate (B. Sc.) engineer production to add value in national exporting backbone i.e. textile sector. Further launching training program in cooperation with JICA and another with Skills Development Project, GOB; signing MOU with GIZ and launching training program on ETP; Total service quality improvement by successful adaptation of efficient administrative system in NITTRAD will get first hand priority.”
