DUET launches PhD in Textile Engineering for the first time in Bangladesh

The department of Textile Engineering, DUET, organized an orientation program for Ph.D. and MSc students in the university conference room on August 31. The Post Graduate Program started with 10 Ph.D. and 32 MSc students (Session 2020-2021). Eligible candidates are admitted to this program after written and oral evaluation.

The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Shahjalal Khandaker, Head of the Textile Engineering Department. Professor Dr. Himangshu Bhowmik, Dean, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, DUET, was the chief guest.

Distinguished faculty members and students also attended.

Associate professor, Dr. Abdullahil Kafi said, “Starting its journey from September 2005, the DUET is working to be the center of excellence for quality education, research, and innovation with highly qualified faculty members and intelligent students.”

“We must have to follow research ethics and have to be a global citizen,” he added.

Dr. Mohammad Zakaria focused on the post-graduation rules of regulation in his presentation.

As the head of the department, Dr. Shahjalal Khandaker said, ”I believe that the department and the country will benefit from the research of these talented MSc, Ph.D. students, who will have the ability to finish their degrees in a timely manner with coursework and quality research along with publications”.

Finally, he wished everyone a lot of greetings and good wishes and terminated the event.
