Epyllion Group wins ‘BGMEA Cup- 2019’

Epyllion Group has won the ‘BGMEA Cup- 2019’ following a 4-3 win over defeating Bando Design Ltd, a sister concern of Laila Group in a tiebreaker in the final match at Bangladesh Army Stadium on 1 March 2019.

After the goalless first half, Epyllion and Bando scored one goal respectively in the second half. Finally, the Epyllion team made their day and won the tiebreaker.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi handed over the champion and runner up trophies. Md. Siddiqur Rahman, President of BGMEA; former BGMEA President Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP; Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBBCI) President Md. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin; BGMEA Vice President SM Mannan (Kochi); Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir; Vice President Mahmud Hasan Khan (Babu) and BGMEA Directors were present at the prize giving ceremony.

Bappi of the champion team from Epyllion Group was named the man of the final match and Raju of the same team was awarded the best custodian of the tournament. Mridul from Bando Design became the player of the tournament.

This year, the tournament was held from February 14 to 23. A total of 15 teams divided into three groups took part in the event held at International Hope School Bangladesh’s Astro Turf playground in Uttara, Dhaka.

The participating teams were Comfit Composite Knit Ltd, Bando Design Ltd, Self-Innovative Fashions, Fortis Group, Apparel Industry, Musk Group, Versatile Apparel, Versatile Fashions, Aspire Garments, Laila Styles, Sterling Group, Ali Garments, Epyllion Group, Tusuka Group, and Torque Fashion.

Among all, BUFT, Sailor by Epyllion, Laila Group were the platinum sponsors for the event while Dhaka Bank, Shahjalal Islami Bank, Islami Bank, and Juki were the gold sponsors. Race Internet was the Internet partner and Ceylon Biscuits Ltd was the gift partner of the tournament.
