EU delegates applaud Aman Spinning’s commitment towards sustainability

The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Bangladesh, headed by H.E. Charles Whiteley, the Ambassador and Head of Delegation is the official representative of the European Union in Bangladesh along with a Delegation of Members of the European Parliament, visited Aman Spinning Mills Ltd. (ASML) at Ashulia, Savar.

Tahrin Aman, Founder and Managing Director of Aman Spinning Mills hosted the delegation and provided a tour for the visitors highlighting the sustainability and prudent Labor Rights practices.

EU delegates lauded Aman Spinning Mills’s commitment to the Reuse, Reduce and Recycle model. ASML manufacturing Yarn made out of food waste such as banana peels, and pineapple leaves and also using Pre consumed textile waste to produce new sustainable fancy yarn were the interesting point among the visitors.

Aman Spinning Mills’s fundamental aim is to reduce carbon emissions and its strength is the commitment to ensuring quality, research and development and innovation. Aman spinning is also the only spinning mill in Bangladesh that has been accredited by SREDA as the most energy-efficient spinning mill. Delegates appreciate ASML’s core values and practice.

A delegation of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade visited Bangladesh to inspect Bangladesh’s progress in implementing the European Union’s (EU) nine-point action plan to address human and labor rights issues, a prerequisite to remain eligible for the former’s generalized system of preferences (GSP) benefit. Based on that matter, they were very happy to see the ASML is managing their labor force.

EU Delegation appreciates the fact that Aman spinning mills is committed to ensuring safety in all aspects for their employees by following Bangladesh Labor Low and also international code of conduct.
