Faruque Hassan, Managing Director of Giant Group, one of the top garments manufacturers and exporters, will contest for the post of President in the election of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
The announcement was made recently by his panel joint council members.
The announcement was made at a meeting last Saturday at the Giant Business Tower in Uttara. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, former BGMEA President Qutub Uddin, Mostafa Golam Quddus, Safiul Islam Mohiuddin, Abdus Salam Murshedy, Siddiqur Rahman, former President and Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Atiqul Islam were present on the occasion.
Faruque Hassan has previously served as the elected director, Vice-President and senior Vice-President for two terms of BGMEA. He has also served as the President of the Dutch Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DBCCI).
