The Designers have their creative styles of dressing and believe in setting a trend rather than following a trend set by others that will offer great opportunities in the RMG market. Considering this demand National Institute of Textile Engineering & Research (NITER) initiates a unique program, B.Sc. in ‘Fashion Design and Apparel Engineering’ from the 2017-2018 Session.
This program offers 75 Seats (160 credits) with 4 years duration and gets admission through the Engineering faculty of Dhaka University. This Program is designed how to cultivate and express their creativity and develop a personal signature with designing, tailoring and retailing. This ultimately prepares them to be authentic authors in the international design scene and enrich our RMG market.
The core study area in fashion design delivers fundamental knowledge and insights extending from fashion illustration via pattern drafting, pattern grading, advanced pattern, draping, garments construction, digital fashion design, CAD through to final dress submission. Furthermore, the learning areas of Textile include fiber to yarn, weaving and knitting technology, apparel sewing, wet processing, printing and trendy washing processing, etc.
These disciplines are highly effective and together in a single department give an advantage in making discoveries and innovation for our students and faculty members.
An academic class is performed by industry-oriented teachers and also provides lecture sheets, an immense library, computer lab, as well as data color and drawing opportunities, design studio and production machines for achieving outcomes.
