Home Minister inaugurates new main gate of BUTEX

The new main gate of Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) has been inaugurated by the Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on 11 October. The gate is opened about a year after its construction began.

Just after the formalities of inaugural function at the main gate, the Minister gave a brief, where he expressed his expectation that the students of this institution will lead the textile sector by making themselves competent for the upcoming days.

Professor Md. Abul Kashem, Vice-Chancellor of BUTEX, Deans, the Head of departments, staffs and students were also present during the event of the inauguration.

Arafatur Rahman, a third-year student of the university said to the reporter, “The new main gate is wider than the second gate we were using, so it’s easy for the cars to pass. It’s also easy to enter into the university building for people coming from both sides.”

Nur Alam another student said, “Its distinctive design depicts a shuttle which is a necessary element of textiles. I hope the gate will uphold the dignity of the university.”
