In such a condition, it has become more significant than ever to move towards alternative energy sources and focus on green energy options like solar panels to move the country towards greening. Realizing these issues, Huawei Fusion Solar will provide new generation string inverters with smart management technology to create a fully digitalized Smart PV Solution.

Liang Weixing (Jack), Managing Director, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited in a recent interview with Textile Today highlighted features, benefits return of investment and Bangladesh market service.

Textile Today: Huawei is a leading global ICT infrastructure and solution provider. Please share us Huawei’s operational aspects in Bangladesh?

Liang Weixing: As you know that Huawei Technologies is a global company. We are in Bangladesh for 24 years. Back in 1998, we started our journey in Bangladesh. At present, we have a big portfolio in Bangladesh with 400 employees and 8 warehouse facilities across the country. Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd. has a big digital power team with more than 30 people to ensure top-notch service for our customers.

Textile Today: We see a global energy crisis and Bangladesh textile and apparel industry is in a dire situation due to energy crisis. In this circumstance, how do you highlight the significance of renewable energy solution?

Liang Weixing: Actually this crisis situation is not limited to Bangladesh only rather it is a global scenario. All the developing countries are switching to renewable energy alternatives like solar and wind. For instance, Vietnam has increased their solar energy capacity to 20GW in just 2 years. Which is an amazing achievement. Bangladesh industries have the same energy crisis and at the same time have same opportunities in the renewable energy.

Textile Today: How many sustainable and renewable energy solutions are available in the market? Which options are best for the industrial firm?

Liang Weixing: For the Bangladesh market, in terms of renewable energy, solar and wind power have the most potential. Also, solar energy has a very bright prospect in Bangladesh.

Considering the current global energy crisis situation – where energy costs are increasing rapidly. Thus, depending on global energy will create more unstable situation for the businesses in Bangladesh.

On the other hand, solar energy will provide more stable energy situation in Bangladesh. Most importantly, the country will be independent clean energy source – free from instability of global energy market. And more and more entrepreneurs are keen on installing rooftop solar as an alternative.

This transformation will also reduce the load in the national grid – as the load will be lessen in the coming period – and make Bangladesh’s electricity more stable.

Textile Today: Kindly share us the features, benefits return of investment (RoI) – for the companies who are installing Huawei Smart PV solution to generate renewable energy? How do you see the response from the industry?

Liang Weixing: Let’s discuss about the two kinds of solar technologies – one is utility-scale PV power generation and another is solar rooftop projects – which Huawei is providing string inverter solution. For utility-scale PV power generation projects we are bringing the newest technologies to Bangladesh.

Our solutions make any PV power plant run more efficiently and through better intelligence, in addition, easy maintenance makes Huawei utility-scale PV power generation best choice for Bangladesh.

As for rooftop solar, safety is the most important aspect in it. Because, there are many instance of fire cases globally. But we value people’s lives and properties – thus Huawei Technologies prioritizes rooftop solar safety. Huawei provides enhanced intelligence for PV systems through inverters and management systems, and has made the technology much safer. For instance, we have developed a AI fuction that monitors and detects ‘arc faults’ to protect against sparks that could cause a fire: In less than 0.5 seconds, the system is shut down to protect the PV system from fire hazard – this makes our arc[1]fault circuit interrupters (AFCI) more than 2 seconds faster than the industry standard. We have brought this AFCI technology in Bangladesh market to keep our solar solutions free of fire hazard.

As for the response from the industry, we are getting great response from them. Entrepreneurs ask us about the safety features of our solar solutions and we show them our latest technologies. Overall, we are getting a very good response from the business people.

Return of investment (RoI) depends on the size and other aspects of a project. We help our customers in making detailed RoI study.

Textile Today: Share us the Huawei Technologies solar products warranty periods and how do you ensure the maintenance and after sales service.

Liang Weixing: Huawei Technologies solar inverters standard warranty is 5 years. But customers can also buy additional warranty periods up to 20 years. For providing world-class sales service Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd. has a topnotch platform. We have our sales engineers, sales warehouse, service spare parts, etc. So, this is how we provide the best service in Bangladesh for the last 24 years.
