Huntsman congratulates Engr. Shafiqur Rahman for achieving CIP status

Eng. A.S.M Hafizur Rahman Nixon, Chief Operating Officer at Swiss Colours Bangladesh Ltd (agents for Huntsman ( Singapore) Pte Ltd.) was also present during the occasion.

Recently in recognizing the contributions of the RMG sector to the national economy and creating jobs, Bangladesh government has awarded Engr. Shafiqur Rahman with the status of commercially important person (CIP) Export for the year of 2017. The Commerce Minister, Tipu Munsi, handed over the award to him in a magnificent award-giving ceremony at a hotel in Dhaka.

The government selected a total of 182 business people for CIP (Commercially Important Persons) status due to their outstanding contribution to the country’s economy in export in 2017. Of them, 136 persons were given the cards for their outstanding performance in the export category where majority of them were from the textile and apparel industry. Other 46 were given the cards under the ex-officio trade category among the recipients.

The CIP card is recognition to the business people who contributed a lot to the Bangladesh economy by investing money in industrialization and created jobs for the countrymen.

Engr. Shafiqur Rahman is an eminent person in the Apparel and Textile sector for his wide engagement of social activities especially in the textile community.
