Tuomo Poutiainen, Country Director of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Bangladesh, praised the progress made in Bangladesh Readymade Garment (RMG).
On 23 May, a delegation led by the its Country Director held a meeting with Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Faruk Hasan at BGMEA office.
During the meeting, they discussed the progress of ongoing projects jointly implemented by ILO and BGMEA in the RMG sector.

They also discussed possible ways of cooperation between the ILO and BGMEA for the further development of the industry, especially for the welfare of the workers.
Besides, the assistance provided by the ILO to the garment industry of Bangladesh to ensure the rights and welfare of the workers is very important for Bangladesh.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan thanked the ILO for their support to Bangladesh’s garment industry. BGMEA Vice President Miran Ali, Director Barrister Shehrin Salamishi and Asif Ashraf were also present at the meeting.
