Indian textiles suppliers meet Bangladeshi garments exporters

The two-day Textile Sourcing Meet 2022  began in Dhaka at Radisson Blue hotel yesterday. This show will be closed today on 18 September.

In the inauguration ceremony Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi MP was present as Chief Guest.

Faruque Hassan, President, BGMEA; Shahidullah Azim, Vice President, BGMEA, Shwapna Bhowmick, Country Head, M&S; Neela Hosna Ara, Director, BGMEA; Masudur Rahman, President, BGEA; Atul Saxena, President, IICCI; Shovon Islam, Chairman – Press and Publicity, BGMEA; Kamal Uddin, Chairman – Standing Committee of Trade Fair, BGMEA were present as Guest of Honour.

Textile Sourcing Meet’ 22 is a grand curated Networking cum Sourcing Show co-hosted by SOWTEX (B2B marketplace for fashion & textile, digitizing Sourcing of Materials, Stocks & Vendors connecting users to different regions across Borders) in Joint Association with Fashion Export Fraternity led by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association BGMEA, Bangladesh Garment Executives Association (BGEA) and Indian Importers Chambers of Commerce and Industry (IICCI).

Sonil Jain, Founder & CEO, Sowtex Network Pvt Ltd; Mir Bashir Ahmed Ripon, Chairman – Standing Committee of Market Development, BGMEA; Jannatul Ferdous Nipa, VP – RMG IICCI, Partner-SOWTEX Bangladesh; Emdad Ul Haque Miazi, General Secretary, BGEA also attended the event.

Sonil Jain said, “This is the first time that Bangladeshi textile manufacturers and Indian textile suppliers are having such an event and SOWTEX is delighted to be a part of it”.

Speakers discussed working together on various issues such as easing the cross-border barriers between two nations and speeding up the transportation of raw materials and boosting export and import.

It is an endeavor to facilitate deeper engagement and integrate the textile value chain between India and Bangladesh through panel interactions with top delegates, networking & business growth sessions, product development displays and trend forecasting.

The event showcased 35 top textile companies in fabric, trims and yarn categories from India with their product development capabilities along with their USPs based on trends and innovation to fashion buyers and manufacturers looking for sourcing quality, sustainable and innovative materials for international markets.

Speakers said that this show will connect Bangladeshi RMG exporters and Indian textile suppliers. The two-day event is exclusively open to senior dignitaries, foreign diplomats, fashion buyers, business owners (members of BGMEA, BKGEA, BGEA, BGBA, BTMA, FBCCI & BKMEA), senior designers & sourcing heads.

This show will connect Bangladeshi Textile and RMG exporters and Indian textile suppliers.
