India’s kidswear export sees a mammoth 23.20% rise in FY ’22

Kidswear export in India witnesses a mammoth 23.20% growth in FY 2021-2022. According to the latest Ministry of Commerce and Industry data, the South Asian country earned $16.04 billion in FY ’22.

The kidswear segment has recovered from the COVID impacts. Having said that, the global kidswear fashion sector has taken a pounding in the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The kidswear segment has become one of the fastest-growing sections in India. With many prominent Indian brands entering the market and the prevailing ones diversifying their range by bringing sustainable categories, gender-neutral attire, and many more.

According to experts, outbreaks of COVID is declining in Europe and US. As a result, this year, the kidswear ‘Made in India’ export is growing, diversifying, and rapidly becoming one of the key drivers of the industry.

The data showed that the USA was the largest export market for kidswear with $437.97 million export. The USA market accounted for around 35% share of India’s kidswear export values. While UK was the second-highest export market with $188.42 million. Witnessing a 15.05% increase. Among the European countries – Kidswear export to Germany was $51.6 million. And France was $50.46 million.
