All Over Printing (AOP) has become a highly sought-after technique in the apparel industry, especially for knit products. The practice first emerged in Bangladesh during the 1980s, and now more than 135 factories in the country offer AOP services.
Bangladesh has established itself as a major player in the global AOP market and can compete with any other country in the world.

Recently, the President of All Over Printing Technologists of Bangladesh (AOPTB) Engr. S.M. Abdur Rahman, shared his thoughts on the current state and future of the AOP industry in Bangladesh.
Despite being a major player in the global AOP market, Bangladesh’s AOP industry is currently facing challenges due to the global crisis. Engr. S.M. Abdur Rahman, expressed his concern about the decrease in AOP orders in Bangladesh recently, citing the global crisis as the reason.
Despite this setback, he remains optimistic that Bangladesh will overcome this crisis. Engr. S.M. Abdur Rahman also mentioned that the crisis of gas, which has affected many industries in Bangladesh, will be resolved from April as reassured by the government. This is a positive development for the AOP industry as it will help stabilize the costs of production, which have been fluctuating due to the rising demand for AOP.
While the AOP industry in Bangladesh is currently facing challenges, there are also opportunities for growth and development. The industry is embracing new technologies to meet the rising demand for AOP, and the need for skilled professionals presents opportunities for textile engineers to develop their careers.
Bangladesh currently produces around 12,000 MT of AOP each month using various printing methods, such as Pigment, Discharge, Reactive, Disperse, and Figure: Engr. S.M. Abdur Rahman, AOPTB President.
Glitter. Engr. S.M. Abdur Rahman explained that Bangladeshi industries are now using digital printing with all conventional and rotary printing. This indicates that the industry is embracing new technologies to meet the rising demand for AOP.
However, the rising demand for AOP has resulted in unstable printing costs, which is a concerning issue for the sector. Engr. S.M. Abdur Rahman pointed out that this puts exporters in a difficult position, as many factories are burdened with high financial costs and negative margin orders due to extreme buyer pressure and unplanned high capacity. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed by the government and the industry stakeholders.
Engr. S.M. Abdur Rahman is also working as General Manager of TRU Fabrics Ltd. He highlighted the need for skilled people in the AOP industry, which presents opportunities for textile engineers to develop their careers in this printing sector. He encouraged them to consider this option and assured them of AOPTB’s support.
This is a positive development as it shows that the industry is aware of the need for skilled professionals and is actively working to attract and retain them. In conclusion, while the AOP industry in Bangladesh is currently facing challenges, there are also opportunities for growth and development.
The industry is embracing new technologies to meet the rising demand for AOP, and the need for skilled professionals presents opportunities for textile engineers to develop their careers. The government and the industry stakeholders need to work together to address the issue of unstable printing costs, which is a major challenge facing the sector.
With the right support and strategies, the AOP industry in Bangladesh can continue to compete with any other country in the world.
