China-Bangladesh joint-owned company M/s Jinqiu Global Textile Bangladesh Limited is going to set up a garment accessories manufacturing factory at Ishwardi Export Processing Zone (IEPZ) with an investment of $15.63 million.

An agreement was signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) and M/s Jinqiu Global Textile Bangladesh Limited on 6th October at Bepza Complex in Dhaka in the presence of Bepza Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, NDC, PSC.
Bepza Member (Investment Development) Ali Reza Majid and Jasim Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director of M/s Jinqiu Global Textile signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The jointly owned company will produce 25 crore meters and 2 million different types of garment accessories annually. The factory will create employment opportunities for 981 Bangladeshi citizens.
Member (Engineering) Mohammad Faruque Alam, Executive Director (Public Relations) Nazma Binte Alamgir, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Tanvir Hossain and Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Md. Khorshid Alam and He Ping, Director of Jingq Global Textiles were present during the signing ceremony along with other delegates.
Ishwardi EPZ is one of the eight EPZs in the country operated by Bepza, located at Pakshi in Pabna district, started production in 2001. At present 22 industrial plants are operational in this EPZ and 16 are under implementation. IEPZ has created about 17,000 job opportunities for Bangladeshi citizens.
