Chinese company Kaixi Lingerie Bangladesh Co. Ltd. is going to set up a composite garment factory in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar economic zone, Mirsharai, Chattogram with an investment of USD 60.85 million. The company will produce 30 million pieces of Lingerie products and auxiliary textile (fabric) hangers and foams annually for its own production and export. It will create employment opportunities for 11,000 Bangladeshi personnel.

The company signed an agreement with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) on November 8 at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka. BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Mr. Ali Reza Majid and Director of Kaixi Lingerie Bangladesh Co. Ltd. Mr. Xiao Hongxi signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, NDC, PSC, congratulated Xiao Hongxi for choosing the BEPZA Economic Zone as an investment destination. He assured the new investor of providing all kinds of services to set up the factory and start production operations.
BEPZA Executive Chairman called for ensuring the maximum utilization of the land used during the construction of factory buildings and requested to use the roof of the company’s factory building for renewable energy production.
Xiao Hongxi also thanked BEPZA for fast processing of their project with allotment of land in Bepza Economic Zone.
BEPZA Member (Engineering) Mohammad Farooq Alam, Member (Finance) Nafisa Banu, Executive Director (Administration) Md Zakir Hossain Chowdhury, Executive Director (Investment Development) Md Tanvir Hossain, Additional Executive Director (Public Relations) Anwar Parvez along with Kaixi Lingerie of Bangladesh General Manager Cui Haibin and Consultant A. Z. M. Azizur Rahman were present at the signing ceremony.
