Kinsman becomes successful being with alibaba.com last 14 years

Kinsman International along with Kinsman Zi-Tex Ltd & Kinsman Sourcing Ltd is doing textile-related business in Bangladesh since 2000. They have started their business mainly in the packaging industry and for the very first time in Bangladesh they launched PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) bags mainly used in undergarments products packaging.

They have started a buying house business in 2007. In the same year, they joined alibaba.com, the leading B2B platform. Recently, in a discussion with Textile Today, M.M. Aminur Rahman, MD of Kinsman shared his business experience with alibaba.

Initially, he could understand that sourcing buyer is a difficult task and he was looking for a trustworthy platform and chose alibaba.

“After joining alibaba, I got a German buyer overnight which boosted up my confidence and in the last 14 years I got many customers in alibaba,” he said.

Now he is doing business with lots of reputed customers in the EU, Like, Aldi, LIDL, Norma, Edeka Non-Food, Real store, Kaufland. Last four years they are focusing on the Polish market and doing business with Big Star, PBH S.A (Brand QUIOSQUE), BYTOM, all are fashion styles and also doing discounting shop TXM through an agent.

“Alibaba is the largest online platform that operates its business all over the world where worldwide customers are there and I believe that if anyone strongly sticks with alibaba, he will be successful”, said Rahman.

However, he also emphasizes being active in alibaba regularly, properly launch a product, decorate the mini-site nicely and maintain the sub-account to increase the response rate; these are the key factors to be successful in alibaba.

While sharing his experience, he said, every day he gets around 100 RFQs (Request for Quotation) and 8-10 inquiries and he can attend around 20 RFQs every day. For the new entrepreneurs especially those who want to build a career in the textile and apparel sector, he thinks, the mindset up is most important and then if anyone maintains the alibaba account properly at least for one year, he will get customers. He also suggested setting a proper pricing strategy in alibaba.

He also shares his view regarding online platforms amid the corona pandemic, “for the lockdown in EU and USA, all the big brands and company are depended on online platforms and in the era of digitalization there is no option other than online platforms if you want to promote your products in a faster way”.

Regarding his packaging items, he said that e-flute corrugated boxes especially for the undergarments products are getting more popular all over the world. It is a new packaging item and a trend of this packaging is coming up.

Kinsman now exporting all kinds of woven, denim, knit and sweater items, Like, Twill pant, shorts, men’s shirt, ladies shirt, boys shirt, girls shirt, denim pant variety wash effect, Padding jacket men’s, women, boys, girls and junior also, knit item like, all type of tees, print any kinds, Hood, Jogging, sweatshirt, tank top both men’s and ladies, All most all type sweaters, Acrylic, cotton, Cashmere-like, viscose/nylon through alibaba.com. He thanked alibaba for being with him for the last 14 years.
