Lecture series organized by Textile Engineering Department of SEU

The Department of Textile Engineering of Southeast University organized a 'Lecture Series' at the University's permanent campus in the city's Tejgaon I/A on August 25, 2013. Professor Dr. Anwar Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of Southeast University, was the chief guest. Engineer Syed Farid Ahmed, managing director of Unique Washing & Dyeing Limited, and Engineer M. Kamrul Hossain, general maanager (planning) of Jamuna Group, were present as the guest speakers.
The lecture series was intended for the Textile Engineering students of SEU to have the opportunity to learn from the professionals and qualified engineers from this sector and to grasp ideas about the professional life. In his speech Engr. M. Kamrul Hossain mentioned the importance of job experience in textile sector. It takes like 8-10 years for a textile engineer to build a successful career and remaining years become much easier as experience grow by. He also emphasized on developing technical skill which will help for producing more value added products.

Engr. Syed Farid Ahmed shared his views as an industrialist and urged students to study hard, learn more form the curriculum given and to develop as a textile engineer who can handle situations in job life that normal diploma graduate or non-textile person won’t be able to deal with. There was a short question answer session where the guest speakers answered all the questions asked by the curious students.
Professor Syed Fakhrul Hassan, the dean (acting) of School of Science & Engineering and proctor of the University, presided over the ceremony. Wing Commander Syed Ahmed Kabir (retd), chief coordinator of Southeast University Trust, was also present at the ceremony. Dr. Syed Atiqur Rahman, associate professor of Department of Textile Engineering, gave a brief introduction about the program in his address of welcome. Zulfa Ferdous, lecturer of the Department Textile Engineering, conducted the program. ANM Ahmed Ullah, assistant professor of the department, delivered the vote of thanks. He also conveyed special thanks and congratulations to all the participants of the ceremony.
