Matex Bangladesh partners with bluesign®️ as the first chemical manufacturer in Bangladesh

Recently Matex Bangladesh Limited (MBL) signed the bluesign®️ system partner agreement for the chemical supplier’s category. MBL is the first local chemical manufacturing company in Bangladesh whose 70 major fast-moving products (out of 150 products) are enlisted in the area of acid-neutralizer, wetting agents, enzymes, sequestering agents, detergents, anti-creasing agents, leveling agents, dispersing agents, soaping agents, fixing agents, softener, lubricants, bleaching agents, and optical brightener were enrolled in the system.

Mahir Ahmed, Director, Apex Holdings Ltd. and Walter Streitler, Director-Asia, bluesign®️ have signed the agreement. MBL has passed the extensive bluesign®️ assessment which was conducted in June 2022. Shahan Reza, bluesign®️ Country Manager, Bangladesh & Pakistan; Engr. Shaikh Reaz Uddin Ahmed, DGM, Operation; Shahinur Alam, DGM, Marketing; Engr. Zahirul Islam DGM, Marketing, and Habibur Rahman; Sr. Manager of R&D from Matex were also present.

Engr. Shaikh Reaz Uddin Ahmed said, “We are envisioned to help the industry to achieve its goal and this agreement with bluesign®️ will help us to go further. We have a range of products for synthetic fabrics processing as we are observing the orders shifting from cotton to synthetic products.”

Matex Bangladesh Limited (MBL) started its production and distribution of specialty chemicals since 1994. The main objective of MBL’s local production facility was to supply fresh auxiliaries of the highest quality. Over the years, MBL has made significant advances in product development and diversification. For the last 28 years, MBL fulfilled the demands of the textile industry by combining leading-edge technology and innovations.

Matex products have been used for fabric dyeing, yarn dyeing, denim processing, terry towel processing, fabric printing, and textile accessories dyeing industries to export garments to the USA, Europe, and Japan markets.

MBL has continuously optimized its processing technology over the years and has regularly upgraded to state-of-the-art manufacturing technology.

All MBL textile auxiliaries are manufactured under the latest international safety and environmental standards.  All raw materials are screened to ascertain that no banned substances are present or generated during the processing of textile materials.

All raw materials are imported from renowned sources in the USA, Germany, Japan, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, and India with details analysis to comply with global restrictions.

This has enabled MBL to introduce a broad product portfolio of more than 150 products as per customers’ requirements. All of their products are developed as per guidelines of REACH, GOTS, ETAD, OEKO-TEX, ZDHC, and all of USA, Japan, and European buyers like H&M, C&A, M&S, INDITEX, LIDL, BEST SELLER, and IKEA.

To operate smoothly and in a more systematic way of operation MBL has already implemented QMS ISO 9001:2015, EMS ISO 14001:2015, and OHS ISO 45001:2018; also, for its laboratory ISO 17025.
