The present stature of Bangladesh wouldn’t have been possible without the endeavors of early RMG players whose performance gave Western brands the confidence to partner with Bangladeshi manufacturers for their sourcing needs. MBM Group has emerged as a major player in the RMG industry since 1983 and has been producing all kinds of woven garments segment.
MBM Group is one of those early players who saw the economic potential for RMG goods in developing Bangladesh. Their yearly turnover is 14 Million.
Recently MBM Group has launched one of the biggest design studios in Bangladesh at their own factory following American style.
Operating for over 30 years, MBM Group is a legend in developing the RMG sector producing garments for near 14 brands like Levis, JCP, H&M, VF Corp, PVH, G Star and others. This generated and multiplied the confidence of other brands to invest in Bangladesh.
They are capable of making all kinds of denim, non denim woven tops and bottoms for both womenswear and menswear as well as children top and bottoms, high-end dress, shirts, formal pants, uniforms and outerwear with super stretch/rigid fabrics having heavy wash applications. They also have a positive attitude towards new styles and washes.
Their marketing team and top-level management are always analyzing the market to follow up on the fashion trend or contemporary innovation and seasonal demands of the customer. They have an office in the USA where 2 fashion designers are working.
An internal design team is continuously developing new products at its own design studio. Buyers choose about 30 percent product from their own development.
Their product development time is one week for local fabrics and 2- 3 weeks for imported fabrics. Most of the fabrics, almost 80 percent, are sourced from Turkey, China, India, Pakistan. Other portions, around 20 percent are sourced from local textile manufacturers.
Engr. MD. Saifur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer, MBM Group said, “This concept mainly comes from Wasim Rahman, Managing Director of MBM Group which is a value-added aspect.”
“Another thing is that now many buyers and retailer brands are shutting down their own design studio to reduce their cost and they are seeking support from us, in this regard,” he added.
He also said, “Our main strategy is to show our caliber in designing and product development to attract potential buyers and I think it’s a kind of company branding and marketing. MBM Group always tries to be the frontrunner of the market through innovative idea generation and activities and this design studio gives us such an unparalleled place in the market.”
