Recently Bangladesh celebrated National Textiles Day 2019 with the theme ‘globalization of the textiles sector-sustainable development’ and with a call for making the sector more prosperous and vibrant.

To observe the day several related govt. institutions, trade bodies undertook various activities. Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President Md. Abdul Hamid gave separate messages for this occasion.
“The textiles sector is playing an important role for rural poverty alleviation, women empowerment and employment generation,” said President Hamid.
“As per the requirement of the 4th industrial revolution, the Jute and Textiles Ministry would have to undertake efforts to patronize the textiles sector and disseminate the textile education as a whole,” Sheikh Hasina said.
In the modern era sustainability and environmentally friendly manufacturing process in textiles are an important part. As the second-largest exporter of RMG, Bangladesh plays an important role in locally and globally.
