‘Need more qualified textile engineers to achieve our production target’

Uttara University organized orientation ceremony for the newly admitted students of Textile Engineering departments for the Spring session-2019

The orientation ceremony for the newly admitted students of Textile Engineering departments for the Spring session-2019 of Uttara University was held on 8 February at Uttara, Dhaka.

Professor Engr. Mashud Ahmed, former Vice-Chancellor, Bangladesh University of Textile (BUTEX), was present as the chief guest where Professor Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University and Professor Mumtaz Begum, Treasurer of Uttara University were present as special guests.

Also Kazi Mahin Uddin (Register of Uttara University) and Md. Abu Bakar Siddique (Chairman, Department of Textile Engineering of Uttara University) were present as guest of honor.

Md. Abu Bakar Siddique, Chairman, Department of Textile Engineering of Uttara University presided over the program where Tanveer Hossain, Lecturer, Department of Textile Engineering gave the welcome speech.

Professor Engr. Mashud Ahmed said, “There is no alternate way to achieve success in life without being educated. Modern life can’t be possible without education. In the past days, the sadness what our generation was unable to overcome that your generation will eliminate. If you make yourself valuable, people will run after you to get you and if you don’t, you’ll run after people. Nobody can’t teach anybody unless he or she teach himself or herself.”

Mashud Ahmed also added his words on the importance of Textile Engineers “Man can’t live without cloth either it before death or after. The demand for cloth will increase. And to fulfill this demand and to achieve our production target we need more qualified textile engineers.”

Kazi Mahin Uddin, Register of Uttara University, motivated the freshers saying, “Uttara University have taken the right decision. The pilling of their 15 storied building for the permanent campus will begin very shortly. This batch can have class on the permanent campus.”

He also talked about their university motto “Less tuition fees, higher quality Education” and free transportation service for all students.

Professor Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha (Pro Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University) inspired the students saying “Not only good results but also extracurricular abilities are also needed to get a good job.”

She also inspired students to be good human beings, enlightened people and entrepreneur.

A newly admitted student of Textile Engineering department shared her feeling “We are having one of the best laboratories facilities, affordable tuition fees, and highly qualified teacher. This university is a Centre of excellence of territory education.”

Md. Abu Bakar Siddique, Chairman, Department of Textile Engineering of Uttara University, thanked all for organizing the program successfully and gave crest to the honorable chief guest Professor Engr. Mashud Ahmed.

Afterward, students organized a pleasant cultural program.
