Netherlands Ambassador pays courtesy call on BGMEA President

The Netherlands is keen to continue its support for the sustainable development of the Bangladesh RMG industry. Ambassador of the Netherlands in Bangladesh Harry Verweij expressed interest during a meeting with BGMEA President Faruque Hassan at the BGMEA office in Dhaka recently.

They had discussions on different trade issues including the preparedness of the industry to face the challenges after graduation from LDC. They also discussed the impact of the Covid pandemic on the global apparel trade, especially on Bangladesh and strategies to overcome the effects.

The BGMEA President thanked the Dutch government for its continued support for the betterment of the apparel industry.

Ms. Paula Schindeler, Deputy Head of Mission and Mahjabeen Quader, Senior Advisor- Economic Affairs and CSR, the Netherlands Embassy in Dhaka, BGMEA Vice President Md. Shahidullah Azim, Vice President Miran Ali, and Director Md. Mohiuddin Rubel were also present at the meeting.
