A dialog was held on 12 November 2018 between Executive Committee (2018-19) of National Institute of Textile Engineering & Research Alumni Association (NITERAA) and the running students at NITER Conference room to share the association’s vision and mission.
NITERAA started its journey on 9 February 2018 with the vision to make a strong community and communication channel for all the students of NITER. The association is formed as a networking hub of former and running students of NITER aiming to promote the interest of the institute and its students.
Roni Mia, President of NITERAA said, “NITER graduates have good demand in the textile job sector and we have made the buzz in the industry within a very short time. Now we need a strong collaboration within the platform, which will help us to make a bridge between ongoing and the former students of NITER as well as to build a professional network. We will work for the welfare of our institution and all the students.”

Ashraful Islam, Scientific Officer of BJRI and Sajid Imtiaz, Production Officer of Hamim Denim Ltd. were present from an advisory committee of NITERAA on this occasion. Among others from the Executive body, President Roni Mia, Lecturer of NITER; General Secretary Md. Selim, Lecturer of International University of Scholars; Vice-President Mehedi Hasan Shuvo, Sadhon Kumar, Prosenjit Saha Tanu, Al Moznun Shamim, and Joint Secretary Shahin Ahmed and Burhan Uddin Banna was also present there.
NITER has been operating B. Sc. in Textile Engineering from 2010-2011 session, B. Sc. in Industrial & Production Engineering (IPE) from 2015-2016 session and B. Sc. in Fashion & Apparel Design (FAD) from the 2017-2018 session. Now, more than 1,200 students have enrolled in these courses and gradually the number is increasing every year. Very soon, M. Sc. in Textile Engineering course will start under the academic umbrella of the University of Dhaka.
