Pacific Jeans Group’s one concern achieves LEED Platinum

Pacific Jeans Group’s one concern NHT Fashions Ltd has achieved Platinum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certificate for existing building design by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), an upgrade from the previous Gold certificate, according to Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).

The Chattogram-based NHT Fashions scored 84 in the latest assessment by the United States Green Building Council, up from the previous score of 64.

With the latest one, Bangladesh becomes the home of 66 LEED-certified platinum factories, where most of them are green garment factories.

Mir Nasir Uddin, started the Group in 1984. And it is the pioneer in making premium jeans in Bangladesh, exporting to over 50 countries. With a nonstop focus on quality improvement and value addition, adoption of updated denim processing technology, commitment towards upholding a safe and healthy workplace for workers and stringent adherence to customer compliance requirements, Pacific Jeans has become one of the chosen suppliers to leading global fashion retailers.

Now, it is the largest denim products producers in Bangladesh. The Group is known for its state-of-the-art production facility, extensive and exceptional research and development center, highly expert human resources and sustainable and environmentally mindful initiatives.

Apart from LEED certified platinum garment units, Bangladesh has 109 gold, 10 silver and four just LEED certified.

Besides, over 500 other garment factories are awaiting LEED certification for their green initiatives, according to BGMEA.
