- Desk Report
A delegation from the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA), led by Southern Zone Chairman Abdul Rehman, visited the BGMEA headquarters in Dhaka.
The visit aimed to explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the textile and apparel sectors.

During the visit, PHMA representatives held a strategic meeting with BGMEA Administrator Anwar Hossain, members of the Support Committee, and leading garment exporters.
The discussions focused on improving collaboration between the two countries to promote development and innovation in the region’s textile industry.
BGMEA Administrator Anwar Hossain highlighted Bangladesh’s current focus on producing more value-added and complex garments, particularly those made from man-made fibres.
He also emphasized the industry's commitment to environmental sustainability and technological advancement.
Both associations acknowledged the potential for mutual growth, noting that Bangladesh’s globally competitive ready-made garment (RMG) sector and Pakistan’s strong textile manufacturing base could complement each other.
The meeting concluded with a shared interest in promoting knowledge exchange and industrial cooperation to strengthen the textile value chain across South Asia.
