Japanese based apparel manufacturing company Roulin (BD) Limited is going to expand their business in Ishwardi Export Processing Zone with an investment of $25 million. Since 2011, The company has been operating their business in IEPZ, and invested $4.53 million.
Meanwhile, a large part of the company has been taken over by Matsuoka Corporation, a major player of the wholesale sector of Japan.
So, new shareholders will invest $25 million to expand Roulin’s existing operations, BEPZA said.
On behalf of Roulin (BD), BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Md. Nazrul Islam, BEPZA Member for Investment Promotion Md. Mahmudul Hossain Khan and Malsuoka Corporation Representative Osamu Sasaki signed the investment agreement.
At the signing ceremony, BEPZA Member of Engineering Mohammad Faruque Alam, Member of Finance Nafisa Banu, Secretary Md Zakir Hossain Chowdhury, General Manager of Public Relations Nazma Binte Alamgir, and General Manager of Investment Promotion Md Tanvir Hossain Managing Director of Roulin (BD) Md Mahbubar Rahman were also present.
According to BEPZA, investing $525 million of 31 Japanese enterprises will create 13,500 job opportunities for Bangladeshis.
