RSC pledges to ensure more safety and dynamism

RMG Sustainability Council (RSC) has promised to be dynamic amid the ease of the COVID. RSC made the assurance at its board meeting at a hotel recently. In which its stakeholders and all the 18 directors – comprising factory-owners, foreign buyers and workers – were present.

The members said the RSC promised to be a sovereign and responsible agency with its improved activities to make world-class and sustainable workplaces in the RMG industry.

Safeguarding structural, electrical, fire and life safety and boiler safety inspections would be its crucial works.

In the meeting, BGMEA Vice-President Miran Ali stressed on increasing the remediation works and certification to the factories in the meeting.

While, Babul Akter, General-Secretary of the Bangladesh Garment and Industrial Workers Federation said, “The Covid-19 crisis greatly interrupted the activities of the RSC which was formed at the beginning of the pandemic. Now, we have discussed how we can make it dynamic.”
